Fisher seals first European Tour victory
Fisher, 22, had shared the lead overnight and continued a fine weekend to claim his first win on the European Tour, finishing 13 under for the tournament.Mikael Lundberg of Sweden finished second after remaining in contention throughout by matching Fisher’s 69.
Consecutive birdies at the seventh, eighth and ninth put Fisher in a good position going into the back nine where three more birdies and Ping G15 Irons three bogeys proved to be enough to secure his maiden title.“I can’t really explain what it means. After the year that I’ve had it’s a relief in that sense,” said Fisher, who becomes the fifth member of the 2007 Britain and Ireland Walker Cup team to win on tour.

Fisher and Rory McIlroy were playing partners on Britain and Ireland teams at amateur level and the US Open champion was quick to congratulate his friend, tweeting: ‘Enjoy this one buddy. Great to see you back where you belong’Paraguayan Fabrizio Zanotti carded a final-round 66 to move into a clear third place while Fisher’s compatriot Gary Boyd finished fourth, Callaway X22 Irons five shots off the top.
First-round leader Peter Lawrie finished on level par after a 73, while Simon Thornton closed with a 71, which left him on three over.
